Escubedo workers take part in the Oxfam Trailwalker Girona 2018

Doing its bit to fight poverty and hunger, the Escubedo team aims to complete 100 km in less than 32 hours.

Rubén Sarabia, Joan Rota, Manu Cortés, Jordi Gali, Jordi Feliu and Vanessa Roura are the brave and caring members of the Escubedo team taking part in the Oxfam Trailwalker Girona 2018. This charity sports challenge, taking place on 14 and 15 April, consists of walking the 100 km of the Girona Narrow-Gauge Railway Route (now a greenway), stretching from Olot to Sant Feliu de Guíxols, in 32 hours or less.

Of the six team members, only four will undertake the physical challenge; the two remaining members will provide support, waiting for their colleagues at each control point with refreshments, clean clothes and plenty of encouragement.

The purpose of completing the challenge is to obtain donations for more than 400 cooperation, humanitarian action, fair trade and awareness-raising projects in over 90 countries. This year, the charity event is focusing on providing millions of people with easier access to drinking water, so that women and children no longer have to walk several kilometres each day to obtain it.

We’d like to offer the Escubedo team all our encouragement and support! We’re sure you’ll make it!
