Escubedo’s newest subsidiary, ESCUBEDO USA was incorporated in late 2010 and has opened its doors for business on 1st of January 2011, the reasons for this are twofold… 

Firstly, Escubedo sa, being a global company with more and more of it’s sales dependant on exports and off-shore manufacturing activities made the decision to expand it’s global reach by entering the USA market. 

Secondly, there was the necessity of having technical support for US based OEM’s with manufacturing in Mexico and elsewhere.

 Although more and more of US manufacturing is being outsourced, most of the engineering and design of products originate in the US. This is mainly due to US federal requirements for products sold in the USA.

 There are currently over 750 independent harness makers in the USA and Canada. Of the US based companies, many have a manufacturing facility in Asia and or Latin America. US sales were $ 24 billion in 2010 and are expected to grow by 5% in 2011. This does not include OEM’s who manufacture harnesses in-house.

 With energy becoming ever more expensive US carmakers are looking to their European subsidiaries designs to sell in the USA. This requires re-engineering them to comply with  US Federal regulations.

 Escubedo is using this opportunity to enter this competitive market with proprietary products such as the TP range of low insertion force terminals.
